“The Kiln Hotel in Wakefield has the look and feel of a run down American Motel that has been abandoned several decades ago. Desperately in need of refurbishment it appears that the new owners have not made any improvements since taking over from Campanile Hotels. The room I stayed in for 1 night looked as if it had not been decorated for 20 years and still had a lingering odour of Cigarette smoke. “Overall we had a lovely stay, only thing we thought was a bit disappointing was the main bar didnt open till 4pm on the sunday but the lady on reception at 1pm went above and beyond and sorted us some drinks so we could sit and relax in reception.”

“We only stayed one night here to break our journey south, but would be more than happy to stay here again. Lovely good sized room with air conditioning which was great as it was 35C. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. We ate in the Jacobite restaurant which had a good selection of meals on offer. We had a lovely breakfast the next morning with plenty of choices available.”

“Exceeded expectations all round. Unusual for uk pub bedrooms.. air conditioning! lovely bedroom above the pub, well appointed, comfortable and quiet once closed. New Owners Becks and Tony super helpful and welcoming. Pub itself also great. Will definitely be back in the future”

“Disappointed with the room. It was small and the bathroom was difficult to manoeuvre for more than one person at a time. The room was dusty and could tell certain parts had not be cleaned in quite some time. Would not stay here again.”
